21+ days inpatient for a service-connected condition? That’s a temporary 100% waiting. Do this now: download your discharge summary with admit/discharge dates and primary diagnosis (VA Blue Button or hospital portal), upload it on VA.gov to your claim, and explicitly request a temporary total rating for hospitalization. Include transfer records if you changed facilities, and state the exact date range and condition treated (psych stays count). Payment can run from admission through the end of the discharge month. If unsure on criteria, verify details on VA.gov.
