Surgical Proof Wins: Upload Your Operative and Discharge Reports Today

Discuss on Reddit

Surgery on record? Turn the op note into rating power—upload it today. Log into MyHealtheVet or your private hospital portal and download your Operative Report and Discharge Summary for any surgery tied to your claim, then upload them to your active claim on VA.gov right now. Those documents spell out hardware, complications, restrictions, and length of stay—fuel for ratings (scars, convalescence, functional limits). Can’t find them? Call the hospital Release of Information and request same-day portal release. Name files clearly (e.g., “Knee Operative Report 2022-06-14”).

About VA Claim Helper

VA Claim Helper is led by a U.S. Navy submariner (ET2/SS, USS Pittsburgh 1995–2005) translating VA law into plain-English claim strategy so veterans can document service connection, prep for C&P exams, and win ratings without guesswork.

We publish daily VA disability tips, evidence checklists, and field manuals that walk you from Intent to File through appeals. Every guide is battle-tested with the veteran community and refreshed when VA policy shifts so the intel stays mission ready.
